The organisation is passionate about improving safety in Australian workplaces by providing relevant tools and understanding for small businesses to manage WHS systems, themselves. For many years, small businesses have struggled to understand the “complexities of WHS legislation”, resulting in either very poor risk management or use of expensive “off the shelf” systems, not understood by the organisation. Effective management of workplace risks, whilst complying with WHS requirements, does not need to be difficult!
It is the philosophy of Insight Safety to ensure work health and safety systems are simple and practical, so that all persons within the business understand risk issues, and more importantly, are able to effectively identify and control risk issues, during their day-to-day activities. If systems are complicated and/or not specific to the small business, they may not be understood, thereby creating potential frustration, undesired behaviours and/or non-compliance in the workplace.
Put simply, our aim is to provide clients with: an increased understanding of their risk issues; how/when to use risk management tools and provide them with customised practical steps to address risk issues – engaging both management and workers alike.
All WHS systems designed are to “fit in” with existing systems and processes, not create new ones. It is essential that all WHS system improvements identified be integrated into current activities and workplace culture, to ensure ownership and seamless implementation. Training and mentoring processes support system design/improvements, adapted to suit specific business needs.
